Kobena Bonney, Immediate Past PresidentKobena works out of downtown Boston for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC). He is the Coordinator of the MassMATCH Program, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' initiative to Maximize Assistive Technology (AT) in Consumers' Hands. He is a longtime AT user and enthusiast. He has 23 plus years’ experience using and working with Assistive Technology. His passion is to promote awareness of and affordable access to AT for people with disabilities everywhere.

Kobena is originally from Winneba in the Central Region but grew up in Accra. He attended primary and middle school in Accra and Wenchi Secondary School in the Brong-Ahafo Region, from where he got his (O and A Levels). He studied at the University of Ghana, Legon for two years before transferring to Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania in 1992. He graduated from Swarthmore in 1994 with a B.A. in Political Science, with a concentration in International Relations. In 1998, Kobena graduated from Boston University with an M.A. in Political Science and International Relations.
Kobena lives in the Boston area with his wife Alberta and his teenage son Christopher. His interests include reading, listening to the radio, sports, and advocacy on a range of sociopolitical topics. He is also active a number of community organizations.
